Tell Your Story
Posted by Bob Maxwell on Jan 4, 2010 in My Story | 2 commentsHere is your change to tell others about your journey with diabetes. Who knows, you just might help some else that lives with diabetes or maybe you might get some information that may be helpful to you. So go ahead… give it a shot. It is amazing what happens when you start typing.

My name is Shari. I am a mom to twin 6 year old boys. One of my guys was
diagnosed at 22 months with Type 1 diabetes. When my son was diagnosed, my
world was turned upside down.
How was I ever going to raise this child that would be on a “forever
diet”, if you will.
How was I going to stay focused on his food intake for the rest of my life
when I couldn’t even stick with my own eating habits for more than 2
weeks?
Fast forward 4 years, we are all thriving. His A1c is great and I have
learned that a mother’s love is indescribable when it comes to caring for
her little cub!
My blog, http://www.everydayhighsandlows.com , was started to hopefully allow
parents caring for children of diabetes an outlet to share and be heard.
Feel free to log on!
I have met the ladies of Diabetic Life Magazine and they are truly sent
from Heaven! They are devoting their lives to connecting people affected
by diabetes. For that, we all applaude you Karen and Sharen! Thanks for
helping us!
Thank you for sharing your story Shari and your compliment. Your blog is very interesting and helpful to moms that have children with diabetes. We’d like to applaud YOU!
Karen and Sharen have a great passion to bring awareness about diabetes to others. They have many family members and friends living with diabetes. They are always looking for new topics that may interest others regarding diabetes. Bringing awareness is important, but so is inspiring those that may feel hopeless. That’s the combination that really makes them shine.
We are looking forward to teaming up with you and your awesome insight and stories through your blogging.
Yours in health,
Diabetic Life Magazine Staff
